One of the main things that has gotten me sidetracked--not to mention furious--in recent weeks is all the mansplaining being generated by the rash of accusations of sexual harassment directed at powerful men. It started with the odious Harvey Weinstein, and continued through a whole string of other entitled jerks, with the latest target--NOT victim!--being Matt Lauer, who just got fired from the "Today" show this morning.

I can't stomach all the whiny demands for validation and reassurance I've been seeing in my Facebook feed, and which I refuse on principle to humor or respond to in any way. After 5000 years of patriarchy and decades if not centuries of systematic protection of abusers and equally systematic victim-blaming, men have no business trying to hijack this issue and making it "about" them.

I'm hoping that won't be the case here, but I realize there are no guarantees.

Well Dahlin', at least the liddle trumpeter is good for something, huh. With his vulgar attitude he's managed to stir up all the women who have been harassed by the liddle jerks! May THAT go down in history as his major claim to fame!

Interesting insight to accomplishments. Getting rid of sexual harassment would make America Great, no again about it! I know just who I’m going to suggest this insight to too!

I'm not sure that is fair. When did we start letting the bottom feeders exemplify America?

When they landed on the East coast....

1) will uphold Israel in all things
2) will pave the way for Evangelicals to wrangle their way into his administration allowing them to "take over the government"
3) but failing the first 2, will prove to be the antichrist and usher in the apocalypse so they can be "raptured" and watch the "tribulation" from the balconies of heaven

Not to mention that since he is bigoted, they feel free to display their bigotry.

They really are a sick lot.

I believe the majority of his staunch advocates would agree. Meanwhile there is a bill to allow churches to be political so to speak! Not a good sign though. Like the Alabama law about school vouchers for religious schools, I think they may be allowing for people who are other than Christian to benefit, which they also have overlooked!

It's actually part of the tax bill, and it's believed that it will allow political contributions to be not only laundered but be given tax free.

Miss Reed, Mrs. Exp, Sia, Vicki(despite our arguments), and CMS, among others.

Are t food stamps based on income AND expenses? For those on Medicare, the high COLA means a high Medicare increase, traditionally. Remember there have been a few times wher the COLA kept Medicare from increasing, although costs had.

Expenses not so much as income(reverse that). We'll see when I renew.

It was fairly long ago, but housing costs were part of the calculation, at one time. Assuming you weren’t in a $1M house with a mortgage!

Have passed your sorrow on to him.

Good, 'cause he states that he often disagreed in order to get the poster's reply "that he might be enriched".

lol, well in my case he put me on ignore Smile :)

At the time I had come to the point that I could no longer support any form of Zionism, as much as I tried.

And it was Zionists in large part that convinced me with their arguments.

Maybe you didn't.

However, how often did I tell you you needed to modify your approach, try mine instead (often disagreed in order to get the poster's reply "that he might be enriched"?).

So I'm supposed to agree that stealing land is a good thing?

Imitate Trump? As he steals land from the Native Americans today for corporations and ranchers?

Smile :)

Don't think so. Anyway I heard it all from Zionists already, they are, in the end, the ones that convinced me it was wrong.

Where did I say anything even remotely like that?

Anyway, it was the Christian West who gave the European Jews and others the land of Palestine.

This might or might not be readable,

https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/.premium-1.826720

The survey highlights how younger evangelicals, while still overall supportive of Israel, have more nuanced views of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and U.S. policy toward it.

For example, while 76 percent of evangelicals over the age of 65 have a "positive" view of Israel, among evangelicals under the age of 35, the number was only 58 percent. That's still a clear majority, but almost a fifth less than among the older population. At the same time, 66 percent of evangelicals under 35 believe that "Christians should do more to love and care for the Palestinian people," while only 54 percent of those over 65 share this view.

Bryan, Senator Grassley was talking in the context of the estate tax. Since current laws tax the person's income, investments, property and then when the person dies the government taxes it again when it is passed on to the heirs, some people chooses to spend their wealth on frivolous things while alive. Because of the inheritance taxes, some people decide not to invest their wealth wisely.

Of course, a lot of us are lucky to have just enough left over to pay our bills when we die.

I received a new reason to settle Israel this morning,

"AviS

It's hard to read Devarim, Yehoshua, Shmuel and Melachim and come to the conclusion that conquest of land is not a Torah value. Or at least a Torah-sanctioned, if not commanded, act. Certainly the distinctions are meaningless."
