I'm trying to remove some long text strings/code, tables, html... from my web pages.

To be specific those old accipiter ads. (about time?) from Prodigy.

When I cut and paste the text, and it's a bunch, Arachnophilia just goes bing and doesn't find it or replace it.

Also after doing that, I can't see the "Replace" side anymore. The left box for "find" takes up the whole width of the screen and I can't seem to reset it, without clearing all Arachnophilia settings. So I have to clear the configuration file and start over.

I tried with cut and paste,then tried with the global and multiple lines, still doesn't work?

Any way to remove all those ads from my website now that it's not on Prodigy. This is 20-30 web pages. And no they haven't paid me in ages, make that a decade?) missed paying me when I had the ads on PWPs. so I don't know why I bothered leaving them.

The browser kind of hangs, looking for the link and trying to send the data. Time to get around to cleaning up nine year old segments of the minor pages that no one else looks at.

 
Are you using an older version of that software? I've never used it (I use UltraEdit for such things). Have you tried a scan/check-disk (repairing/moving stuff it finds to be questionable)... or a removal-then-reinstall of Arachnophilia (IOW: is it possible that a portion of the program has become corrupted, or resides on a weak/bad sector of an aging disk)?

New download, new install, but interesting idea that I hadn't thought of for the future.

I think it has something to do with such a large string.

I'll remove and go get UltraEdit and see if that does it.

I was waiting for someone to make jokes about the Accipter ads still hanging around on my web pages. When Prodigy closed those, I moved them all to another site. I had seven or eight. I keep laughing because they were all under 10MB each and now, a few photos and I have that much.

More saved for the memory than anything useful. But the ads were making the pages hang because it was trying to send data out to somewhere in Prodigy.
