In the past I have been able to download and print tax forms using Adobe Reader.
I don't seem to be able to do that now. I get error messages of one sort or another. I have tried to reistall Adobe Reader but still no success. Any suggestions? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tee "Blaming other people for your problems is self-defeating - even if you're right. - WJC |

I downloaded and printed some 2009 tax forms using http://www.irs.gov/app/picklis...rmsInstructions.html.
You may need an updated Acrobat Reader. Seán |

I've got answers of one sort or another depending on the error messages. Seriously, more details would be useful. You don't say whether you were able to download the files. You don't say whether the problem is just with printing the files or with viewing them as well. And knowing the error messages WOULD help! Where are you trying to download from? There are many sources of IRS PDF files. What version of Acrobat Reader do you have installed? Jeff/CompGuy |

Jeff, I'll go back and quote exactly what the error messages say. Here is what I do. There is a box on the tax form page that starts the Adobe Reader download. I click this on and the download starts. When finished there is an indication that a file has been established with a url, and it asks if I want to run or save. I have tried clicking both. In the past once that has been done all I have to do is ask for the tax form and it will be downloaded. Now this doesn't happen. So there is nothing to print. Sorry to sound so dense and thanks for your patience. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tee "Blaming other people for your problems is self-defeating - even if you're right. - WJC |

Thanks, but I still don't know WHERE you're trying to download the forms from.
Frankly, it sounds like you're downloading the Acrobat Reader itself, not the forms. Why would you need to download Adobe Reader itself if you already have it installed? So the question, again--what's the URL and what are you clicking on? Jeff |

The URL is AdobeRD930_en_US.ex which appeared after the download finished. I downloaded because when I first tried, I got a message that I needed to update Adobe Reader. The city and state websites have lists of tax forms that you can click on for access. That's what I am clicking on, Not the URL. This was all that was needed in past years. The forms could then be printed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tee "Blaming other people for your problems is self-defeating - even if you're right. - WJC |

Specifically, what site are you on and what is the text that you're clicking on?
And have you actually updated Adobe Acrobat Reader, or have you just downloaded the installer but haven't run it? In other words, have you tried double-clicking on AdobeRD930_en_US.exe itself after you downloaded it? My guess right now is that you can't download the forms because the site sees you don't have the right version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to use them, so it keeps telling you to download the right version, which you do--but since you never install it, you're not getting beyond that point. Success!! The onscreen instructions after the download never made clear that an installation process was also required. You directed me to that process. Again, much thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tee "Blaming other people for your problems is self-defeating - even if you're right. - WJC |
