NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- A family dog has attacked its owners, severely injuring the boyfriend and causing minor injuries to the girlfriend, according to emergency crews.
Pasco County Fire Rescue said the "large pit bull" attacked the victims near the intersection of Otter Way and Sawgrass Boulevard in New Port Richey. Officials said the dog started attacking its owners for unknown reasons and wouldn't stop.
Both of them have been taken to the hospital. The dog was killed by sheriff's deputies, authorities have confirmed.
