Here is an interesting twist on white: I watched a James Bond movie today, and it was set in Morocco, where almost all the buildings were bright white. The horses in Afghanistan were mostly dark.

On the other hand, a lot of Greek buildings are also white, before they were blackened by the severe wild fires.

Hmm, now that's something I've never heard of before. Sounds like a good idea, but if the movie was one of those 'high intensity' movies, my blood pressure might go up while in the waiting room, then I might suffer a heart attack, then I might be rushed to a hospital, and that would add more stress to my already beleaguered life.

Coping with a chronic illness has many pitfalls; but for someone in good health waiting in a train station or airport lobby, that is a great idea!

This is probably one of the most badly written posts I have ever seen on this forum. Since it pops up every time I post on pg. 19 of this thread, I decided to pick it apart and try to figure out what this 'inimitable' jerk, er-ah, I mean 'jkat', is trying to spin.

Wonder where he picked that up. Let's see, the only chapter where horse bridles are mentioned is Revelation 14:20. The chapter says nothing about 'white horses', however.

Fundamentalists do not understand symbolic language, so obviously this inimitable jerk, whoops, er-ah, jkat, is an unbelieving fundamentalist. I have said throughout the years that there is very little difference between a believing fundamentalist and an unbelieving fundamentalist. They both use literalism as their basic premise of interpretation, even though the Bible is filled with symbolism, metaphors, similes, analogies, figures of speech, words of wisdom, parables, warnings, instructions, comfort, encouragement, while at the same time, real history, and real people. Symbolism or figures of speech do not negate truth, but atheists will argue that it does; but since that is not much of an argument and only proves their ignorance, they lose every time!

Symbolism is very powerful language and that is why the Bible is timeless. However, without the Spirit, it is impossible to understand much of the Bible. As I have stated repeatedly, without the Spirit of God, the natural man cannot understand the spiritual things that God has revealed in the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 2:14. This is why those without the Spirit do not understand most of the Bible, and that is why we have such postings as the one shown above.

The Bible also states that when man refuses to receive the truth, God gives him over to the deception he has chosen. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11, Romans 1:18-19.

As my commentary states, Revelation 14 is a series of different scenes that will take place toward the end of the tribulation, and verse 20 expresses "the length breadth, and depth of the destruction." Literally, 1600 furlongs (stadia) is an ancient measurement equivalent to 184 miles (about the length of Israel). It is a symbolic number derived from the square of 4, the number of the earth, 7:1, multiplied by the square of 10, the number of completeness, 5:11. It thus signifies 'completeness' as regards the created world, and the 'inability of anyone to escape God's judgment'. See also the description of the judgment upon Pharaoh in Ezek. 32:6: 'I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains...'

Let's see, now what else did this jerk, whoops, I mean jkat, state:

The entire post shows ignorance. Is it worth my time answering fools? Not hardly. The only thing absolute about his statement is that it is a lie in its entirety. The quip about a thousand years is explained in my commentary, pgs. 206 & 207, which is too long to post here (unless requested); but in simple language, Rev. 20:7-9 (where jkat obviously got his erroneous statements) is not in chronological order, and the "battle of Gog and Magog should be understood as the last great battle that ushers in the Messianic millennium."

Enough for now. Most people know very little about the Book of Revelation and never will without the Spirit.

"Jerk," is it? If you actually KNEW anything about Jkat you'd know he writes in a Texas twang for the hell of it. He does that on purpose. That's just part of his shtick and his FRIENDS (and I'm privileged to consider myself one of them) are used to it and we LOVE it! We think it's funny as all hell. It not only doesn't detract from the point he's making, it adds to the power and punch. At least Jkat's FRIENDS think so...that's why I asked for his permission to repost his note here right after he posted it on the News forum.

And what *IS* the point he's making? That no prophecy that gets "fulfilled" by the death of 8.5 million people is worth a rat's patootie, and if by some chance you actually believe in the validity of said prophecy for whatever reason, you DON'T watch the "signs of the times" waiting for the effing bloodbath in fulfillment, you DON'T follow the countdown on the "Rapture Ready" board...

You do everything you possibly can to stop it!!!

But NOOOOO...you and Donald would rather gawk and gee-whiz over so-called "biblical truth" and speculate over which recent bloodbath in the Middle East is the fulfillment of which passage in Revelation, with very little or no concern over the fact that human beings suffered and died!

Donald is much worse that way than you are, which is why I still have him on ignore. As long as he can see (or imagine, or project) the so-called "fulfillment of prophecy" he doesn't actually give a damn about the human tragedy, ESPECIALLY when he thinks it validates his right-wing religious and political beliefs. Sometimes he tries to fake compassion by using the rhetoric of compassion, but it's obvious that he doesn't really feel it.

That "jerk" Jkat is the complete opposite of Donald, which is why I like and admire him so much. His intellect and competence are QUITE formidable--were you aware of that? He's a very successful engineer with his own company. He has worked on MANY large-scale projects in his career, both for the government and private industry in every part of this great nation. He's a Marine combat vet, a Vietnam vet who has shed several quarts of blood for his country and had more bones broken than he can count. We are ALL fortunate that he's still with us. I mean America is fortunate, because he's an asset to this country in more ways than I can count, or YOU can count because you obviously don't know about them.

I could also clue you in a little bit on his intelligence and his sense of justice, which are every bit as formidable as his competence and bravery. His sense of justice and low-key but consistent and unfailing love for humanity are what REALLY set him apart from the herd, and I'd tell you all about that except that I've already spent more time on this post than I have.

Let's just say Jkat reminds me of something my husband said years ago that I've never forgotten: "When I was younger I wanted to have friends who were intellectuals, but when I got older I wanted to have friends who were simply good people. And then I discovered that one is just as rare as the other."

Well, that "jerk" Jkat fills the bill on BOTH counts! If you insist upon putting it in biblical terms, he's "first in the kingdom of heaven." Definitely among the first anyway, but you had NO CLUE about that! I bet you don't even have the decency to be ashamed of your ignorance now that I've filled you in a little bit.

I stick with Voltaire in my relationships and strings. The ability to see well written dissent is the only way America will come up with a national health insurance that fits the bill.

In fact, a sermon today reminded me of Jefferson's statement about "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Our forefathers promised life and liberty, but said we had to pursue happiness ourselves, including health.

This statement belongs here because we also pass through health issues to get to our white horses, sooner or later.

There is an interesting development at the Muslim home on the corner. The head of the clan has the job of finding investments, so we see large vehicles coming and going, and some large tubed charts that look like maps. Well, the economy affected the business drmatically, and the head has been back in the United Arab Emirates for some months. The last of the family, a fine young man who is currently attending the University of New Mexico, is also going abroad for a week to ostensibly attend the wedding of his brother. The house is a shambles, better after a yard clean up, but still with piles of wood, wild trees, torn up shrubs, and garbage that just gets put out on time.

One unsettling item was a Ranger pick-up that broke down during the picking up and had to be towed. They also left the phone number of a local cell phone that could be reached from abroad..and left it with me as an emergency number.
