Sez who? I did my service honorably too.

I presume you were in the category of "they also serve who stand and wait".
Like, someone has to care for the horses?

Donald

Donald,

There are people who do nothing but whatever makes them feel good; and for sure they have no interest in caring for horses, doing volunteer work, or contributing something to society other than their hate. They only see their life's circumstance as a place to hi-jack others they hate especially people who ride white horses! Wink ;)

A bit of reseach on why an antagonistic post from the News Board was brought over here to this religious topic gives a clearer picture of why people do what they do, and say what they say. It turns out Jkat said on one of his posts on the News Board that he is an agnostic; and, of course, Linda has said the same thing about herself in times past. So naturally they become critics and mockers of believers!

Putting this in the proper perspective will explain why she said "you aren't fit to unloose Jkat's sandals". There is an old adage that says 'like attracts like'; so what happens is that they both unloosen each other's sandals as they wash each other's feet.

Needless to say, the only sandals we unloose are the ones worn on Jesus' feet, who also taught us to wash each other's feet as a symbol of love and humility. Jesus teaches us to learn humility by doing good for others, by doing acts of service or kindness to others, to the poor and disabled; and to teach others to 'bear witness to the truth', as He taught His disciples during his sojourn on earth.

Now we know why we are here! Smile :)

Interesting note on Linda and Jkat. Maybe Linda will remember your note the next time she retreats to the woods.

Did you see that the America's Got Talent is featuring Susan Boyles from Scotllnd singing her new song, "Wild Horses"? The two hour show tonight will announce the winners of this year's competition, and there are other guest performers also. I wonder if Susan will tie her horses to all the White Horse Inns in Great Britain.

There is a big thunderstorm west of Albuquerque, so it's off I go.

Donald

PS I'm having miscellaneous thoughts about Linda holding a white horse.
Since the Jewish people are "chosen" and thus to serve the Lord, and because we are assuming the white horses are of the Lord, maybe the Jews are indeed the stable hands, and occupy the territory where the New Jerusalem lands. Smile-Big :D

Sela,

I'm an agnostic??? That's news to me...haven't I been telling you over and over again for years that I'm a pantheist? But then I guess it makes no difference, considering that you hate pantheists as much as you hate agnostics.

Except for Sean, of course...he's allowed to be a pantheist because he's more tactful than I am. I won't give you any arguments about that one--Sean *IS* more tactful than I am!

I'm what I have always been: a follower of the Perennial Philosophy. That doesn't change according to your moods *OR* mine...or which of my friends I happen to be defending from the slings and arrows of the self-proclaimed "elect."

I sure hope not! I fervently hope that next time I retreat to the woods (next summer, maybe?) that you and Sela are as far from my thoughts as possible.

I'll agree with you that any retreat should allow recuperation.

What I really hate to see here in New Mexico is the dying by illness of firs and pinons, and the ruin the pine tip moth brings, as well as the wild fires.

May your retreat have healthy trees and be as refreshing as the last one.

Today I received a postcard from my oldest daaghter, the wildlife veterinarian, who was visiting Mongolia to learn about a goat species. The stamps on the postcard carried the head of a tan horse.

She also says that the absence of human noise there is stunning. This is an agrarian country where horses are the chief mode of transportation. She said that even though it is September, it was cold and that was a reason not to extend her stay.

So here is a characteristic of a heavenly army on white horses: quiet and cold.

Donald,

Actually, that is not in harmony with Scripture.

It has been a while since I last posted, but as said on the Road topic, there were a great many things going on in my personal life, and thus had to take a break.

Getting back to your statement above, the main rider on the white horse, called Faithful and True, has eyes as a flame of fire, which according to my commentary means, "his eyes flash with vengeance."

There is much more to say, but further reading of the prophecy reveals that 'a great work still remains for God's people to purify society' from the pollution created EVERYWHERE by the human race! (This is paraphrased from my commentary.)

Welcome back.

My comment on "quiet and cold" refers to the external environment.

I'm positive an army that can go through walls must appear fiery and fearsome.

Donald,

As I was getting ready for bed, I happened to be looking at some items I had thrown in a folder the other day, and there was a post to you that I started off-line and never finished. Too busy, but just happened to notice it as I was navigating the news on the Internet. My husband is working the night shift (he rotates shifts every seven days), and closes the bedroom door during the day when he sleeps (where my favorite computer is). He just left for work a little while ago and just happened to notice that I had typed a post to you the other day but did not post it because I hadn't finished it. Thought I would quickly post it now since it seemed pertinent, though perhaps not directly to either of these topics. This is the post:

[Donald, since my time for posting is usually short, thought I would quickly write a few words. Yesterday we picked up my granddaughter at the airport. She is attending college in Pittsburgh and flew home to be here for five days because of the G20 Summit. Now you see how world events effect us! The city was almost completely shut down for security reasons and people who didn't live in Pittsburgh, especially college students, were advised to leave the city.

The airlines gave a big discount on the fare during this time which was only $220 for a round-trip; so April took advantage of it to see her friends and relatives back home. She is borrowing our car during this time (which we bought from her last year), so had to follow Roy to the airport from here so she could take the car.

To make a long story short, the big event during the drive was losing one of my hearing aids (worth $3,000)! One flaw to these hearing aids is that I have to take one off everytime I talk on the cell phone, and following somebody on a major freeway when the cell phone rings is not always that easy. Although my husband and I had made off in advance where we would park the vehicles near the airport before we arrived there, somehow I must have pulled the hearing aid out of my ear and placed it on my lap when the cell phone rang while driving.

We made several stops before we arrived at the airport. I figured I lost it when I got out of the car. Should have put it back in my ear, but it is such a distraction to be doing these things while driving. Believe me, talking on the cell phone while driving in a lot of traffic is not easy, and it is especially distracting when you have to deal with a hearing aid. Usually I take it off and leave it in my purse when the cell phone rings, but that only can be done when Roy is driving. Hmmm, now that I think about it, I very seldom drive by myself, so probably this is the first time since we bought those hearing aids. (We've talked about them before.)

Anyway, I lost that three thousand dollar instrument!]

Well, that was as far as the note was typed. But the story has a happy ending! After we picked up April at the airport with the usual hugging, she drove us to where we had our truck parked. I told her about the hearing aid incident and asked her to look for it in the morning. This was 11:00 at night so it was too dark to look in the car now. She lives in a town about 60 miles from where we live with a friend, but of course, as I said, is now temporarily living in Pittsburgh to get her Master's Degree in Social Work.

Well, the good news is that the next day, she and her friend tore the car apart looking for the hearing aid and they found it! Hallelujah! They found it on the floor way underneath the front seat! So Roy and I immediately made arrangements as to where we could meet her and the time, which we did, and THE LOST IS FOUND! Happy

Sounds like a complete exercise in a white horse mission. Smile-Big :D

Something like it will occur Oct. 1, Thursday, in Washington, DC, in support of the physician's care of the patient. Check it out at
http://www.millionmedmarch.com/ Note the the middle is MED, not man.

No, I'm not going. I'll think about the rest. I am guessing, however, that attendance will be more like the Sept. 12 tea party, in part because this is organized outside of AMA channels.

Donald,

Yes, it does sound like we need a complete exercise in a 'White Horse' mission' and NOT a 'White House' mission. Wink ;)

Do you think the new media will cover it?

My granddaughter is back in Pittburgh and other things seem to be getting better, too, except I am too tired to post much. Just wanted to let you know I am looking over the posts on these topics and will be coming back for a big comeback. Thumbs Up-Wink :tuw:

Obama has tied into both the conference and the strong quakes. The guy may get a dose of split personality trying to manage tomorrow. So will it be White House or White Horse? God definitely has a hand to play with, not the least being the MillionMedMarch.

Let us not forget the Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, which follows Yom Kippur. It starts at sundown on 2 October and runs 7 days. Thus it parallels the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, a visual cue to the Rapture, and yes, there is a balloon with the head of a white horse on it.

Here is a thought for the day from Zechariah 14 NIV:

20 In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses.

Donald,

In that closing chapter of Zechariah, we are given a picture of a Jerusalem wholly consecrated to the Lord God of the heavens -- a picture in which the holy city (symbol of the Christian Church) is regnant in the world. The distinction between secular and sacred is done away, for everyone and everything is now consecrated to the Lord's purposes.

The bells, or plates, of the horses bear the same inscription as the mitre of the High Priest; the pots and common vessels of the Lord's house shall be holy as the bowls before the altar; all shall be consecrated to holy purposes.

But first, the final bowl of Revelation 16 must be poured out!

When this happens, the symbolic 'city of God' shall no longer be polluted by the ungoldly and profane: "There shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worked abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life". (Rev. 21:27).

Oh, how we long for that day!

Will the final day be the end of this month?

This is the week of Albuquerque's Balloon Fiesta, and we have company. One of the fun things is to tour the art shows, so we went to the reoccupied ghost town of Madrid. I soon started looking for how white horses are depicted.

Some insights:
Horses like to be in groups.
Horses like decoration.
Horses can be platforms for affecting others, like cowboys roping calves.
Horses can start white in color, or grow white with age, with several variations with other colors, e.g. pinto ponies.
No horse meat was offered, although there were ostrich and buffalo burgers.

A form of pottery using horse hair is intriguing. The horse hair is applied just after the pot comes out of the oven. The hair immediately burns up, leaving carbon black on the pot, so any color is reduced to black.

I was reminded that horses have four legs and a head, like a hand has four fingers and a thumb. So is the horse really a figure for the Hand of God?
It would appear from Revelation imagery that God has as many hands for His people as are needed. I also surmise that such hand/horse is designed to rescue the loving, letting the perishing be like the horse hair on the hot pot.
(John 3:16)

There were not a lot of horses depicted, and almost no hands. The horse hair technique has been upgraded to larger, very ornamental and well finished pot and bowls. There is some parallelism to Revelation 16:8,9.

The end of that chapter also mentioned hundredweight objects falling as hail from the sky. Such an object fell recently on the Niagara peninsula in Canada, with a video of it at www.spaceweather.com .

Well, to answer your question, I can only add a maybe. Fall in our Northern Hemisphere is a time of change to winter, and the UNM Lobos travelling to Laramie, WY, found wind chills of 0 degrees and highway closing snowstorms.
YET, this is a time of transition to Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, and the recent great quakes were south of the Equator in the South Pacific.

P.S. Another curiosity: There was a small-house-sized store in Madrid selling second hand cowboy boots, literally hundreds, most in at least good condition.
That posts the question of what manner of clothing people would wear on the white horses. The only horse with a clothed rider that I saw was a cowboy with boots.

Here's another curiosity:

My Italian accordion made in 1949 is white, and air flow for music through it is controled by hundreds of pinkish horsehide flaps. If one doesn't work, the accordion doesn't work. That is because the hole not covered plays a continuous note for an alarm.

Here are some more oddities. There have been several sizeable single meteors seen in the past three months. The one noted below is the most recent of many described at www.spaceweather.com :

quote:
.."The explosion triggered infrasound sensors of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) more than 10,000 km away," report researchers Elizabeth Silber and Peter Brown of the Univ. of Western Ontario in an Oct. 19th press release. Their analysis of the infrasound data revealed an explosion at coordinates 4.5S, 120E (close to Bone) with a yield of about 50 kton of TNT. That's two to three times more powerful than World War II-era atomic bombs.

There is a picture of the smoke trail at the above site today. The smoke is also white. The YouTube site referred to shows the smoke and kids running out of school.

Here is the White Horse flying environment for mid-November, per www.spaceweather.com :

quote:
LEONIDS 2009: On Nov. 17th at about 2100 UT, Earth will pass through a stream of debris from Comet Tempel-Tuttle, triggering an outburst of Leonid meteors. Forecasts of the peak range from 150 to 500 meteors per hour--somewhere between a "good show" and a "half storm." Observers in China, India, Japan and Indonesia are favored to see the brief but intense display.

That suggests someone knocking at the door of the International Space Station.

It also makes one wonder if the recent meteor strike in Indonesia was from a Leonid.

Just a note:

One of the things to watch in our neighborhood is the flying of the white winged doves. One group now has about 60 birds. While the white refers to a line of white on the edge of their wings when they stand, when they fly over the underside of their wings is a uniform light color from bird to bird. They love to swoop in circles, and the dance they do on my three food bird feeding table is something to behold. Individuals will even walk over others when the table is too crowded. When a dog disturbs them, they fly almost straight up in all directions.

I can visualize the flight of the white horse armies of God just watching the doves.

Would you believe, even Israel is active regarding horses and donkeys?
www.IsraelNationalNews.com

quote:
THEY SAVE HORSES, DON'T THEY?
by Hana Levi Julian

Cart horses will be able to step a little lighter around the Tel Aviv area after the CHAI (Live) and HaKol Chai (They All Live) animal rights groups won a long-fought battle to ban horse-drawn carts from Tel Aviv streets.
For more than a decade, the two groups have pressured the Tel Aviv municipality to regulate -- and then later ban -- the practice of horses pulling heavily-laden carts through city streets. "These animals are often starved, beaten, and made to work in the hot sun without water, and not provided with veterinary care," charged a spokesman for HaKol Chai.
..."Israel, with its security and economic problems, has only recently turned its attention to animal protection issues," the group observed in a statement on its web site. "Concerned Israelis are now working hard to make the Jewish principle of tzaar baalei chaim, the mandate not to cause 'pain to any living creature,' a part of daily life in the country. However, many others see the need to help animals as a very low priority."
...The Israeli group has meanwhile become part of an international coalition of organizations called Horses Without Carriages International, which seeks to end the practice of horse-drawn carts and carriages.

Each morning as I watch the warm-up flights of over 50 white winged doves flying in formation, I am delighted. Then I watch them scramble for the seed on my feeder, and I am glad to say that I didn't feed them all summer. Smile-Big :D

Imagine those white winged doves as the army of God on white horses.

In my poetry I had two formations of these white horses and their riders. One was when Jesus descended in the middle of a whirlwind them to touch the Earth.
The second was when the armies regrouped to enter Heaven.

Using the doves as an example, I can see where there were also forays for special purposes, like an army sending out patrols or on special missions.
The dove flights actually break up into two or three bunches, sometimes briefly, sometimes for longer periods. Think of the choirs of angels announcing Jesus' birth to the shepherds and attending him at his birth.

The doves also use circular movements to discourage marauding hawks, which raid solo, but like to set wings and glide straight to capture their prey in flight.

Even crows are interesting in this regard, sending out sentries or even a supportive two or three for fellow crows apparently grounded.

So much for everyone having just one guardian angel...
