This topic is for anyone's dreams, visions or intuitions as to just what the hell is happening on this planet--right here and right now. They don't have to be tied in to the Bible or Christianity, which as everyone knows is my big problem with some of the long-running "End Times" threads here. Since I started this topic I'm going to start with one of mine. It came to me more-or-less spontaneously on the News board, when I was contemplating the sudden death of longtime Aantares member Nancy Hanlon, better known in recent years as Tuesday.

I also had in mind Senator Robert Byrd's hospitalization for heat stroke. But rather than comment any further I'm just going to repost the note the way I originally wrote it on the News board.

I note some conservative boards where they're speakin' real respeckful-like 'bout Sen. Robert Byrd right about now.

I haven't looked at the conservative boards, but I know Sen. Byrd was hospitalized for heat stroke, and apparently they found other complications too. And he is 92 years old, after all.

I'm getting a little bit creeped out because of the patterns I'm seeing here. We lose two Aants regulars in the same year, both on the conservative side. John Witchey and Tuesday were both old-timers who have been around Prodigy and Aantares forever. It's so strange to be talking about Tuesday in the past tense like this.

I still can't get over how sudden it was, the way CJ described her last day. With Witchey we at least had some warning because he'd stopped posting but would lurk occasionally. So it was understood that he was in poor health, and it wasn't THAT much of a shock when it happened.

Okay, that's here on the Anthill. And now in the Senate, we lost Ted Kennedy a few months ago and now it looks very likely we're going to lose Robert Byrd too. Two great old perennials of the Senate, both on the liberal side.

I don't have a clue what it all means, but my intuition keeps telling me it has everything to do with 2012, with the Great Turning now upon us. I am not waiting for any specific event in 2012, because it's all happening RIGHT NOW. Whatever happens in 2012 will be one more link in the chain of cause and effect, one more domino falling. I don't feel like speculating about what it will be because we're all going to find out soon enough.

But it's as though certain people were not meant to live through it, or chose not to live through it, although normally I detest that particular concept of "choice." I just better not be one of 'em, because I've been waiting for these years all my life. I just want to see what's around the next corner--now more than ever!

I should really have posted this on the R&S board, and I would have if I'd known I was going to go into oracular mode when I started it. That's been happening to me a lot lately, much more often than usual. It seems to be happening to a lot of other people too--probably just another sign of the times.

Probably you aren't expecting a comment from me. My intuition is not good enough to give such pin point accuracy as to have a feeling about 2012. To me we are approaching a group of years not driven by cataclysmic events but by surging ideas. There is a lot more information available in the world than there has been for a long time, or perhaps ever has been before. Ideas will overrun ideas and also get organized, and I think all of the confusion we are experiencing will clarify at least a little as the population learns how to manage the extra information flow. I don't have any spooky feelings about 2012 like I do about 1974. I was born in '74, and I like looking at what events happened that year. The MRI was invented, among other developments. It was a very special and pivotal year, but nobody notices it especially. 2012 will be like that.

I was expecting comments from anyone and everyone who felt like commenting for whatever reason. Don't worry about your intuition not being "good enough." It gets better the more you use and the more you trust it. You'll be fine as long as you don't use it a substitute for rationality aka intellect but as a supplement to it. In my never-humble opinion, intellect and intuition were MEANT to work in conjunction and not in opposition to each other, because they work better in synergy.

Now I wonder what made me use those astrological terms, conjunction and opposition. Astrology has been on my mind more than usual these days, probably because of some of the blogs I've been following. One of them especially often links to astrologers' websites, the bloggers being astrologers themselves as well as science fiction/fantasy writers.

Yeah Laura's mom died last month. She lived in Florida so it's not hard think BP in relation to why her higher self would have picked then to leave. The 2012 (or 2014) return to Eden is referred to as the Wave in Laura's group:

"The Wave is seen as a point of turbulence. The arrival of the Wave is seen as coinciding with various cataclysmic upheavals, both in terms of society and nature.

The Wave has been compared to a waterfall. The river runs placidly up to the brink, then plunges down as a very turbulent stream and again settles into a riverbed of relative stability. A swimmer cannot escape the river but may make adjustments of course for avoiding rocks at the bottom of the plunge if he is aware of these. Also possibilities of a phase change, i.e. evaporation are greater in the cloud of spray surrounding the fall.

Phase change, as in passage from solid to liquid to gaseous has been used as an analogy for shift of density. A small increment of energy causes qualitative changes in the substance and its properties.

In the waterfall analogy, we note that in order to survive the plunge, one must be solid. When applied to a group of beings, as well as to the multiple little I's of each individual, this means that these must be cohesive and aligned to a common purpose. The QFS uses the term colinearity for this when speaking of a group. When speaking of an individual the term is fusion or having a real I. Failing this quality, one is likely to be ripped apart by the turbulence and not to preserve recognizable existence.

The QFS suggests that in the specific volatile circumstances corresponding to the waterfall, the quality of observation contributed to the process by the participants may make a large change in the outcome. This outcome may involve passage between densities, for example. Another example may be a split in timelines, as in the many worlds interpretation of quantum physics. Thus persons embracing one mode of being may literally end up in a different reality than other persons.

The processes in question are not strictly physical, although physical chaos is one likely reflection of the wider process. The process is seen as a macrocosmic quantum jump, determined by conscious observation. Just like the observation event is needed to force a quantum system to a specific state, observation is needed to guide the events inside the Wave."

Tambien,

I think it's interesting that you were born in 1974, the year that Nixon resigned. That makes you a year younger than my son Dylan, whose 37th birthday is today. He's a double Cancer--Cancer ascendant as well as sun in Cancer, and moon in Gemini. I can remember watching the Watergate hearings on TV and timing my contractions, trying to figure out exactly when I was going into labor. I was told to wait until they "became regular." They never did become regular, not even when they were three minutes apart!

Bluelamp,

Do you have a link for the material you just posted? I can't comment on it now, but it's very interesting on a number of fronts and I'll try to get to it ASAP.

Maybe observations are like the birth of children. Suppose hypothetically that children are the responses to events, needs, pending decisions, or even as the practical answers to prayers. That would be another way of thinking about it. Children might be the observation of the process you've mentioned. First, they focus on the issues that they are most aware of, so their interests measure current events. They also fit the bill as observations a second way, because they force change and decisions. They start small but can have big effects.

A lot of strange and amazing things have happened since then. South Africa ended its apartheid govt. Space shuttles have been launched and are now being retired! The Berlin Wall was dismantled! The internet! Cloning!!!!! Rwanda! AIDS! So many amazing things have happened that it takes an effort to count them. Such fantastical inventions and crazy events have happened that almost anything seems believable in comparison, but that is just everyday life for Dylan. We know instinctively that anything can happen tomorrow, including a real talking horse. We will only be mildly amused, not astonished. There was never a year for us that something crazy and impossible did not happen.

Tambien, multiple children does work in a multiple possibilities for the future and a future effects past (us the parents) kind of way. We kind of need to see our children in an objectively true way in order to avoid a chaotic mess.

Tambien,

I don't have much time to post, but I just wanted to let you know I had another long phone conversation with my son today. As a result of various dramatic and synchronisitic developments over the past few days, I was remembering the years between his birth in 1973 and his sister's birth in 1978. In many ways those years were very stressful for my husband and me, but OTOH they were also the most intense and meaningful years of our lives. For one thing, it was the period of our most intense involvement in the Gnostic Society. which meant we were part of a closely-knit group of spiritual seekers who in some ways were closer to us than our own families. It did get a bit claustrophobic and overly intense at times, with conflicts and arguments tending to escalate and spiral out of control. Some of those conflicts left a bitter aftertaste for years to come.

And yet I knew it at the time: "These are the good old days."

This is some of what I was trying to get across to my son on the phone today. He had no way of understanding since he was a toddler at the time.

What has developed on Facebook among my Gnostic friends is direct outgrowth of those days, and centers around a poem I wrote in 1975. Hopefully I can explain more coherently later on.

Bluelamp,

Thanks for the link. I read it through quickly last night, but as I just told Tambien I was preoccupied with this dramatic development on Facebook centering around the poem I wrote in 1975, which was published in The American Theosophist in 1976.

However, the version that was published is NOT the version Rosamonde posted, so now I have to deal with reconciling both versions as well as I can. It's kind of an unprecedented situation for me, considering that I've had exactly THREE poems published in my lifetime, not counting the ones in my high school literary magazine. To have one of those three poems pass into what you might call "the oral tradition" and be used liturgically as a responsive reading for 32 years...well, it's all just too weird.

I REALLY want to explain all this more coherently on my blog in the near future, but right now I need to send Rosamonde the corrected version of the poem ASAP.

Meanwhile could you explain what QFS stands for?

Love and Light,
Linda

It was about 15 years ago that I knew another Jewish person that was into Theosophia. Meeting that guy is one of the few testifiably supernatural experiences that I've had, and I did some work for him for a while. He was already nearly eighty and has since passed on. I don't know if you would have met him, since he was a good bit older than you and of an orthodox family. He traveled a lot before I met him. He lectured on astrology and made some financial contributions to the theosophical establishment. After he retired I met him, and he was someone that strongly challenged me to think and was willing to butt heads with me. He was a special man that I will always appreciate and remember.

Thanks for posting your poem, "Sophia's Song" and your misgivings.

Last week I had misgivings too, and it was a crazy week, culminating in surgical repair of a finger on my wife, almost ruined because of the waiting four months. It was probably saved because someone else cancelled and she got in two weeks early.

For me Thursday demonstrated the chaos: my older accordion went into monotone without my pressing a key. In the next place they fed my little dog something, and she pooped on their driveway and vomited in the car. At a third place a grouchy psychotic man talked half the time I was playing my other accordion, and I played on as other residents kept yelling at him.

Driving home I barely missed my car getting run into by someone backing too quickly in their car. My next door widow friend who just had a good result of her second knee replacement, and I was watering her garden with good result, went into a post op depression--with many friends and family trying to help. The cars are still coming and going.

We of course survived the solar eclipse, but the Gulf oil spill is ringing my bell. The Debt Clock is disconcerting. The lapse of funds for the jobless is serious, and some of those homeless are blaming whoever with their home arsenals. A high security firm here in Albuquerque couldn't stop the rampage of man apparently also in a domestic quarrel.

Re your poem, I do think something more than knowledge will be the haven of believers, and I am inclined toward both true faith and true science. On the other hand, a turnover of worlds remains a possibility.

Donald
