You don't have to go to Brazil to experience one of the country's famous "churrasco" restaurants where waiters walk
around with slabs of steak, lamb, pork and chicken. It's a meat-eater's extravaganza with the waiters returning again and again. There's also a salad bar.
The "Fogo de Chao" (Fire In The Ground)Steakhouse chain, based in Brazil, now operates several restaurants in the U.S.
I dined at the Beverly Hills restaurant which was recently renovated and in a very attractive fashion. The place is light and airy. The cocktail lounge has inside and outside sections. One of the more striking features was a tall wine rack rising like a vertical abacus.
The meals (dinner and lunch) are far from inexpensive, but you can be guaranteed a genuinely distinctive dining experience.
