Look, some of my best friends hold political views different from mine and I've spent my life doubting things. But as an older adult now, I realize that can be a healthy thing.

Notwithstanding our core values, politics by nature are unstable and IMHO evolve.... ebb and flow if you will. At best there should be a willingness to negotiate, compromise and consider ideas that vary from ones to which we rigidly adhere...the Constitution itself being the living document that it is.

Yes, I try to keep my mind open and no, my ideas are not cemented as bricks and mortar to a wall in my head....Thank God. That's what builds a righty (but not necessarily a conservative). Therefore the concerns you enumerate above are but a projection of your own fears.
