GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Four of the five Republican presidential candidates spoke at a Personhood USA panel here on Thursday to discuss their -- mostly identical -- positions on abortion, and issues like trans-human mutation and glowing humans.

While many of the questions were repetitive, a moderator for the anti-abortion group asked former Sen. Rick Santorum about "the world's first glow-in-the-dark human," which he said was created by Cornell University researchers without an intervention from the National Institutes of Health -- a somewhat bizarre example of embryonic stem-cell research, which Santorum opposes. The panelist asked Santorum, of Pennsylvania, how he would "advance scientific knowledge while protecting human dignity and life."

Santorum said he would regulate scientists, who he said are immoral.

On the CNN debate tonight, Ron Paul said his doctor training taught him that caring for a pregnant woman involved caring for two persons. That was a pretty powerful statement.

What the fig would be practical or advantageous in using embryonic stem cells to create a glow in the dark human being? WTF :wtf: ???

There'd definitely be something highly immoral with that idea. Never forget what the first SIDS study revealed, and of course we all know that Santorum is still entitled to his beliefs and opinions. I just think the Democrats are going to dig themselves a deep crater for themselves just like they did in 2004 with all that John Kerry is smart BS.

Great debate tonight! Newt Gingrich kicked ass! I was going with my best bud Romney, but now I don't know anymore.

I am against genetic engineering if it involves anyone getting richer at human-being expense.

If they can use it to find a cure for alzheimers or juvenile diabetes or non-lifestyle related cancers, I'm all for it, but not to produce fatter cows or meatier chickens.

The cow-breeders (US champion polled herefords for many years running) I know and love concur.
