We sure don't want students to read Shakespeare. He's not a true American, after all. More details here: http://www.salon.com/2012/01/1...e_tempest/singleton/ Jeff |

Gee, Taxpayers don't want to fund LaRaza indoctrination, in public schools? And the taxpayers can get away with shaping the studies offered in the public schools! What the HELL is going on around here! |

Much better to teach that Hispanics, Blacks and Asians are inferior Americans. What is someone who professes to be not bigoted but supports those who are? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What's a purple pentode? Why, it's one that's gassy! |

Give me a link to the course that does that. You know, sometimes it almost like some folks are lying sacks of crap or something. |

Zorro -- wondering when you'll be willing to be judged by your own standards for being a lying sack of crap.

Lets see if PP can come up with a link, to support what it appears to be a bald-faced lie. Then there is your claim that AZ "banned" the book, even though it is still available on Amazon and students are free to bring it to school. How truthful is your claim? |

Got it, zorro. Any book for sale on Amazon can be expelled from schools. So, what will they read? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I know the rent is in arrears. The dog has not been fed in years. It's even worse than it appears...but it's alright. We will get by. |

Oh, and I left out Native Americans. Ibid.:
If I understand Zorro correctly (Boy, that's a load), he's asking if there is any history of white prejudice or oppression against minorities according to race or ethnicity. Only a maggot eating putrefying remains and inhabiting dung in the hot sun would challenge its validity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What's a purple pentode? That wasn't my question. My question was, when are you going to hold yourself to the same standard you hold others?
School boards can ban a book from their libraries and approved reading lists. That is the accepted definition of a banned book. Are you going to seriously try to convince us that you didn't know that? But actually, by your standards -- not mine -- of what constitutes a lying sack of crap, it wouldn't matter whether you knew it or not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Otis (Tad) Richards TheOldMole of the MoleNet http://opusforty.blogspot.com/ "It's men like you that make it difficult for people to understand one another." --Superman, to the leader of the Mole Men |

And you're quite sure you want to stand behind the assertion that if something is not specifically on a course syllabus, it's not being taught?

Turns out that the folks at Conservopedia also lying sacks of crap, because they too accept the concept of describing something as "banned" even though it may still be available from other sources.

The Book was not expelled from school, it was not banned from the school, it was not banned from the town, it was not banned from the State, no person is forbidden by the State of AZ from reading any of these books. Otis' title is quite frankly, false. |

Nope. Not the question at all: You posted
And I asked you for a link to the course that does that. Which you cannot provide, because your claim has no more basis in fact than Tad's does. |

Any person in AZ who wants any of these books is free to buy them and free to bring them to school.
Now taxpayers will not longer provide the book for free, and students will no longer be held captive for the delivery of the books contents to them. But the books are easily available from any of hundreds of sources, anyone is free to purchase, read them and even bring them to school with them. |

Then all those conservative bloggers, web sites and journals who use "ban" to mean ban from school libraries and curricula are all lying sacks of crsp?

If a Conservative told you to jump off a cliff, would you?
Anyone that wants to buy the book may, Anyone that wants to read the book may, Anyone that wants to bring the book to school may, Anyone that wants to read the book at school may. All that is has changed is that the AZ taxpayers no longer will provide the book in schools for free, And AZ students will no longer be forced to study the book. So now Libs can all sniff about how their precious little book was "banned" because it is no longer provided for free and studied under compulsion. |

In 2010, Hispanics made up almost 30% of the population in Arizona; American Indian and Alaska Native persons were almost 5% of the state's population. Forbidding any form of Mexican American Studies and banning Chicano and Native American books is the START of policies most Americans won't want to support, for what's next? Women's Studies? 50.3% of Arizona's 2010 population. Black Studies? 4.1% of Arizona's 2010 population. Why stop there? They should rename Arizona (Tohono O'odham Indian name meaning "having a little spring") to StupidWhiteMale Territory, eh? We'll have to get AZ Lib and partner out first, though. *CJ |
