Fort Sheridan - Chicago, we were in some kind of barracks, rearranging the clothes we'd been given on top of the rugged looking cots. Pulling out these funny looking things, I asked the fellow next to me, " What are these thing ? "

" Stupid fool ! " Said he, " Puttem your legs ! "

" Oh ? " said I.

Sitting on my cot, strugging, puffing, jamming here and janking there, I finally got the darn things all of the on. Some of my pants were showing under the damn things. First one leg then the other one - puffing I gottem both on ! Standing up, I took a step to get out of between the whole bunch of cot, when gafflooee, pitching, down I went !

A few kinda rushed over. Then all laughing - one saying, " You are really stupid ! You put your leggins on the WRONG leg ! "
