Never goes away...![]() |
I'd be interested in your votes for nastiest baseball player. By nasty, I mean...your perception of his personality on or off the field. For example, Ty Cobb was known to be a nasty sonuvabtch to many people. From my limited perspective, I'd have to include Roger Clemens as being a very difficult person to appreciate, based on his interviews, his denials, and lack of humor. I know that victor thinks the worst of Pete Rose - but Pete was always charming to his fans, the reporters, and always had a terrific sense of humor - Pete's no way in this category. Some other people who have gotten the reputation for being nasty are Barry Bonds and Goose Gossage. I really don't know much about this stuff. Does anyone have some good stories?

Pete Rose is just a jerk. You over rate him as a ballplayer. There's been a lot of ballplayers that are jerks. Barry Bonds is another one. I seen him yell at a toddler for asking for his autograph. That was when he was a Pirate in the early 90's. I looked the other way and gave him the benefit of the doubt to many times, but that incident was despicable.
Here is a guy that without steroids could bat 300, knock in over 100 rbi's, hit 40 homers, a great base stealer, and great outfielder, but he had to be the best by taking steroids. I hope his stupidity keeps him out of the HoF. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. I thought any player that chewed tobacco was nasty.
