Southern Creole Dish. Delicious and easy.
It's easy but very authentic and good!
And it only uses two pots. One for the sauce and one for the rice.
1/2 cup chopped red pepper
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 small onion chopped.
in 2 T olive oil.
Add 1 14 oz can of the diced fire roasted tomatoes (I use the organic)
1 4 oz small can tomato sauce
Add 1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce
and a bay leaf.
Add one tablespoon sugar (I used Stevia).
Add hot sauce or McCormicks hot sauce to taste.
Simmer for a while until flavors blend
Add one pound peeled deveined shrimp
Sprinkle some Old Bay in place of salt.
Put a lid on and steam gently for just a few.
Serve on fluffy rice and garnish with green onions.
No garlic. I think that's intentional.
Nevertheless, she persisted.
