Hey Cassie, back still out. I guess I will go to the Doc next week. I need drugs. Ducky & I want to go to the Keys next week and it would involve a lot of walking. I didn't get a new chair yet. We found that an old while plastic lawn chair works pretty good but I need wheels on it! Andy, glad you are back. This place was going to the dogs without you. Michael, it was me wanting the Sweedish Crepes and lingen berry's. But French toast with chicken ala king would be ok. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pheebs

Breakfast sounds good this morning. Ummmm, Swedish crepes. Or crepe suzettes for dessert. I think we still have irons for those. Swedish crepes were/are made on a grills that has a pattern on them. They come out looking like doilies haha. I favor the rich and fattening Belgium waffles piled with the strawberries and whipped cream. At the fairs here they often have a booth that makes those. A "don't miss" IMO. It is an annual rite for me. Aren't Lingenberries the GREAT BIG berries? I grow some here that are even bigger called Cascade berries. I think that someone on another thread (was that on Ants?) was talking about making cocconut favored bread they froze for making French Toast. That sounded interesting. In Hawaii I like to go out for some coconut pancakes with Macadamia nut syrup. Ummmmmmm Okay, I'm hungry now. Is any of that on the menu? Where's Andy? I'd thought I'd never say "You can't find an Ant when you need one". Micheal, I'm willing to try your special French Toast stuffed with sweet cream cheese. But your "Chicken-A-La-King on flaky bisquettes" I'll avoid. I think we had another name for that in the service. If you whip up the French toast today, I'll look for that crepe griddle for breakfast tomorrow. I thought I'd stop in and start some stocking of the shelves and prep cooking. Its been so hot and sunny of late, my appetite just hasn't been normal. I have done everything possible for my yard, so today is an indoor, get it done kind of day. I came to the restaraunt to do just that. I was thinking perhaps a brunch with quiche and fruit salad of sorts. For those who don't like the idea of quiche, I was thinking large chef salads, made to order. I do have steaks marinating for those who want something more heavy and substantial with fried or baked taters. Oh, I love to make food happen! It sure is nerve racking not knowing where or how Lori is. We can only hope shes right now as I speak, in her craft room making us "Loris chicken and waffles" beaded shirts. Risky also has me worried. I know he has lots going on with the family but I sure wouldn't mind running into him on the way to the liquor cabinet. Hope everyone has a lovely day today and I hope to see ya after work, be it at the office or in ones home. Godbless, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cassie, :write: Never give up...

It is still cold enough up here that a substancial meal of steak and salad is a good idea. Have you ever noticed that if you eat a big meal in a nice cool airconditioned restaurant on a very hot day that the food seems to expand in your stomach, and you feel like you ate more than you did? I hate it when that happens! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You will accomplish a great deal if you do not worry about who will get the credit" -- Dorothy Height, civil rights pioneer

Hi Cassie, Teng I will have some of that fritter. That is your quiche without the crust. Sounds good. It is warm and muggy here today. Chilled fruit salad sounds good too. Teng, I will send you some of my Rachael Ray's Sausage & Kale soup from the freezer. Too warm here for soup. You enjoy. Just wear elastic pants cause this is a hearty soup. <G> I am worried about Lori. I don't recall her ever leaving for this long. I hope she checks in soon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pheebs

well, I been a busy girl and decided to take a refreshment break. Last friday was my birthday and I thought I'd share on one of my favorite gifts of all time. I have always been infatuated with the ruby, red shoes on the Wizard of Oz. If I could only have them on my feet, just once... anyways, everybody who knows me, knows this has been a desire of mine for years. I have tried shoving my feet into girls sized sparkly red christmas shoes to no avail. This birthday, my daughter and her boyfriend purchased a pair of shoes and then attatched 4000 shiny, bright red sparkly sequens on them. Oh my stars!! I was actually speechless, which is no easy task!! I ran outdoors in the moonlight, up and down my driveway and sidewalks, looking at my sparkling shoes. Oh the joys of receiving a present that one had wanted for years. My shoes are now displayed in a velvet box for all to see. Whenever I want to sparkle, I donn them babies and click away!! Ok, back to the kitchen... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cassie, :write: Never give up...

Well, I am coming in for a diet coke and to share an interesting happening to me this week. I am happy to announce that my hubby and I are dysfunctional enough to have been contacted by the Dr. Phil show. actually, this is the second time they have contacted us, for yet another dysfunction. Now, I know, we should be embarrassed but NOT!! I am excited. this time around its regarding my hubby who quit smoking about 17 months ago and now he has added 40 lbs to his person. I didn't quit with him (yes, I am weak willed and a sorry smoking mess) and am feeling guilty about adding to his cravings. Soo, I wrote Dr. Phil and asked a question and they want photos of us and now they are going to call. We giggle over the photo thingy, wondering, are we chubby enough? cute enough? what exactly are they wanting to see?? Now Ten, I know you don't watch TV, so probably won't know who DR. Phil is. but I can tell you, he kinda slaps people with commen sense in a pointedly fashion. almost like hitting ya with the stupid stick to wake ya up. Soo, hopefully, we will be on the show. I know its a serious question I asked but still, the excitement abounds!! Going to be a momentary star yet... cass ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cassie, :write: Never give up...

First things first! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSIE! What a neat gift your family gave you! Here is one that you can't eat. Next. How exciting that you might be on Dr Phil. Do keep us posted! Just remember, he is noted for saying "yer fat cause you wanna be fat!" or insert smoking or what ever in that line. <G> I will never forget how Rosie O'Donnell was terrified of him and he was her surprise guest one time and got right in her face when she took her mask off. Poor girl, I hope she had Depends on. LOL BTW, I Have a cut out greeting card with sequins on the red ruby shoes back in Philly. Help me remember and when I get back I will mail them to you for your collection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pheebs

Cassie, What a wonderful gift!! I think your daughter and boyfriend are very thoughtful people! As for Dr. Phil... as a therapist, I think that he is somewhat of a "bully" when it comes to dealing with people with "low self-esteem." I tend to try to nurture people with "low self-esteem" and only "confront" when absolutely necessary. One must be judicious when it comes to confrontation. It has to be done with a great deal of thought and it must also include love as a benefit for the client/patient. So, enjoy your limelight, but be careful! What he says to you and your husband is only suggestions. You have the absolute right to refuse to do what he says. God bless, Michael G

Mikey, I agree. I think Dr Phil is so full of himself now that he has this show, he is scary. Listen to Mikey Cassie. Give it right back to him if he tries to make you feel guilty. I hate guilt trips. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pheebs

Cassie, I do know who This DR Phil person is. I would not want to be on his show. From the couple times I have seen him, my feeling is that he says the things that you'd like to say on your most mean spirtited, bad tempered, hard hearted days. I heard that one time he had a couple of extremely heavy women on and then brought on a very thin woman and let her insult the larger women, bringing them to tears. Apparently to teach the thin woman that she was a bigot. He will most likely tell you that your husband doesn't really love you because he gained those 40 pounds and you don't love your husband because you still smoke. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You will accomplish a great deal if you do not worry about who will get the credit" -- Dorothy Height, civil rights pioneer

Lol, thanks all for your input. Hubby and I have giggled over the fact that we believe we can give Dr. Phil, a run for his money. People have told us before that we deserved each other. We are not of the norm... we are loud and boisterous and we run around here like kids in a toy shop. Persoanlly, I believe I know the answer to my question but hubby doesn't. We both need to be hit with the stupid stick though and I know we can take it. Like ya said, ya take the advice ya like and toss what ya don't. I still think it would be fun and I don't care in the least that thousands of people will see us get blasted. I aint had a good scolding in years... Te-he-he, it will bring back the good ole "mom" days. I'll let ya know iffin they decide to pick us for sure. We are not sure if our photos will suffice for a dr.Phil show or not. One of his coin phrases are "Do you want to be right or do ya want to fix it?" We will see, if chosen... Godbless, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cassie, :write: Never give up...

Cassie, I love your attitude and your approach to Dr. Phil. If Dr. Phil talks about the weight issue, ask him why HE looks a bit chubby??? That should send him back. If he tries to divert the attention to your issues, then ask him why is he doing transference towards you and your husband? "Transference" is a technique that a client/patient uses to project on to the therapist an attitude that relates to him or herself. "Counter-transference" is a way that the therapist uses to bring the focus back to the client/patient. Some therapists often play "mind games" with their clients (I say that this is a "no no" Good luck! MG, I am a bit offended that I talked and shared in confidence and that you would state on the public forum that I had a ways to go. I worked very hard at what ailed me and also shared a huge bit of it, albeit, in story form. I stopped writing because you asked how it was going on this same public forum. I know you also said good upbeat things but I have been embarassed and did not want all to know or even suspect, these privacies. I am very sorry but I would appreciate you no longer referring to them. It was supposed to be private, hence, the private messaging. confidentiality is a huge part of therapy. a very sad cassie, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cassie, :write: Never give up...

everyone, please forgive that i am not bussing tables or serving water or cooking inside. my ant farm picture id has gone bad and i believe the ant farm health department frowns on such matters. i am currently attempting to get that taken care of as soon as possible, so in the mean time i'm outside sweeping the walks and hosing down the walls. if the health department should ask, i'm telling them that i'm just a concerned citizen ant who is doing a good deed for the proprietor of this establishment. heaven forbid they should close down lori's chicken and waffles because of a health department violation which i may have caused. oh my. has anyone heard from the proprietor? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - andy ant

Cassie, Writing is good therapy. Sometimes when you put the garbage on paper it loses it's power over you. I have written things, gotten them out and then torn it up in a symbolic "letting go" of it all and it has helped. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You will accomplish a great deal if you do not worry about who will get the credit" -- Dorothy Height, civil rights pioneer

Andy I called the Health Department and they have said because of the attack by Eve and the Infopop gang, a lot of id's are missing. There will be no reprecussions if you return to your usual duties while they try to neutralize the beasties. As far as eve and that infamous no good gang of hers, I say we make a plan and carry them off to somebody elses board!! I e mailed loru via the yahoo messenger today. I dont have a regular e mail, so i am hoping she gets that. I hope its just puter issues, frusterating but safe. Check your PT.
