Enthusiast... |
Most Everyone,
Maybe at my age, one gets as I - just a little bit. " more thinking about past " than is considered normal. The following - to me - seems to be PAST. I believe The Top One does not use luck such as tossing the dice. She knows how the dice will turn. She knows who gets the so-called dice will turn & who get the dough. Somehow, she gives ' the luck ' what the dice is being tossed for and turn said dice either one way or the other. How she does this, no one will ever know. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ William |

William, So you believe everything is in some sense pre-ordained, a matter of fate? I'm not so sure about that. To really believe that would seem to negate human free will. I believe that chance or luck (good or bad) plays a part, and that human will (choice) plays a part also. It's the mysterious interaction of these three factors (maybe more?) that determines the outcome of the situation, although how they work together is beyond me. It's probably beyond everyone, but it's interesting to speculate about anyway. This would make a good topic for the R&S board. It's actually a perennial topic for a lot of religion and philosophy boards--and for every student union on every college campus since long before the Internet was invented! --Linda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” ― Frank Zappa |
