Attaching one topic to every forum makes it impossible to tell if there are new posts in any of them, without going to each and every forum to check.

That's annoying.

It was an unintended consequence that every time there was a REPLY to the pinned topic (in the NEWS forum), it would also serve as the most recent post across those other forums. I have LOCKED the NEWS forum topic; therefore, it will no longer take precedence over other more recently posted topics in all forums.
