I've outlined our "policy" twice and it was quoted to you, Charlie, by Karl, when addressing the issue of whether there was any bias in his recent closing of "new" topics that weren't new at all. Specifically:
Left or right, independent or libertarian, engaged, involved, abdicating or protesting... starting a "new" topic every time you find a scrap of info or attitude that you feel MUST be brought to Aantares dilutes the discussion in the original topics and clutters up the BB with a lotta one-note/few replies topics. As of right now we have, between open & locked topics, 21 topics on the AZ shooting. I'm gonna shut down the itty-bitty AZ shooting topics... feel free to repost whatever you posted in these topics in the (now numbering 9 or 10, I think) main topics, and, of course, continue to post news/info/facts/fantasies in the topics available until this is no longer a news item of interest to you. *CJ | |||

CJ: A few months ago you locked up one of my topics that I was adding items to because you said it appeared I was the only one interested in it. I don't remember doing this, Charlie... and certainly not in the manner you're suggesting I did it. It's possible I locked down a topic you'd started because another topic in the same vein had been started and had taken off, as compared to your topic that only you were adding things to. I don't strictly go by the posting time/date stamp when locking topics... sometimes a relatively dead earlier topic gets closed in lieu of a an fairly active later topic.  But I'm not sure this would've been sufficient reason for me to lock a topic unless the topic I locked in lieu of another topic was part 'n parcel of a whole slew of topics, such as the Giffords/AZ shooting topics.*CJ | |||

Charlie, My advice to you is to stop whining and GET OVER IT!! I've had any number of topics shut down. You don't seem to notice. You effectively called me a liar in this very thread...I suppose that's your right? I posted a topic when the birth certificate story broke and it has given birth to any number of new topics. I don't always feel I'm treated fairly....and I'm not. But I know three things beyond a doubt. 1. CJ tries her best. 2. Life isn't fair. 3. You are behaving like a crybaby and a bore. Peachy | |||

Spam is one thing but now NO duplicate or similar topics are allowed? At one time point I thought I saw the rule expressed we didn't want more than three on the same subject on the front page. I think locking every duplicate is excessive. Not everybody is going to read every post in every thread to know if an article has been posted. More so if as some posters like to do they substitute a comment for the description of the article.
