Beyoncé went country, y’all.
The superstar singer joined forces with the Dixie Chicks at the Country Music Association Awards Wednesday night for a special performance of “Daddy Lessons.”
Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire, who have been covering the “Lemonade” single on tour, took Beyoncé country with a version of the song that had just enough twang to fit into the country award show.
The irony of Beyoncé choosing the Dixie Chicks to back her wasn’t subtle either.
Note to the NFL: Compulsory patriotism isn't patriotism. It's fake news.
