As my late husband used to say, "Yes, you're very trying."

Sean,

It probably didn't take that cloud formation long to shape-shift into something more G-rated, or R-rated anyway. You know how clouds are. By the time the kids woke up or tore themselves away from Grand Theft Auto, the clouds would have turned into something pretty innocuous.

Sean,

I love it!!! Is that going on your blog, or is it already there? I didn't look at everything.

I'm not sure it's a "transition," though. Maybe just an additional requirement?

Linda,
The aging pic is in my blog from years ago. The host went belly-up so I renewed it using a new one. Here is another in the same category. I call it
Days of Whine and Noses

Sean,

Oh yes, I remember the days of Whine and (runny) Noses very well. And I'm VERY glad they're a thing of the past!

Some days are worse than others. My plan was to watch the Canadian geese, who are honkily returning by the hundreds. That was not to be. My printer, in the act of printing the confirmation of a stock transaction, did the boilerplate normally, then balked and started flashing warning lights. It great time and effort just turn it off. I fooled it with all morning, tried all remedies suggested by the on-line manual and ruined a lot of paper, all to no avail.
After a small lunch, not well digested, I decided, as a last resort before purchasing a new printer, to uninstall/reinstall the software. Doing that required the manufacturer's CD, which I had put carefully away about 5 years ago. It was in the drawer of the stand where I first used the printer. I found it there, not from notes nor memory, but by systematic searching. It took more than an hour to complete the reinstallation, but the printer's functionality was restored. By that time the geese had punched their time cards and were swimming in the river, so I completely missed them. I just hope more geese arrive tomorrow.

We who hope for more geese are lucky, Sean. There are some people who don't seem to know or care.

Sean,

I wish I could tell you I think that's funny, but somehow I just can't bring myself to do it. I guess I've known too many men in my life who "understand" women the same way!

Sean,

LOL! AHA! I see he's "reflecting on rejection" in everybody's favorite meditation spot, although the vast majority of people won't admit it.

Have you posted this one on your blog? Also, could you give me the link again to your blog again? I forgot to bookmark it the last time I was there.

Linda,
     My blog address is http://wugoworld.blogspot.com/.
You may have seen a postural resemblence to Rodin's Thinker. The similarity is not an accident. I have sometimes thought the great man may have executed there a small joke in bronze and stone.

Sean,

Thanks for the blog link. You now have at least one follower of your blog, and I guess there could be more of them. But there are no thumbnail pictures of the blog followers like there are on the other blogs I follow on that site. Why is that? I follow most but not all of the blogs on my Dashboard as a public follower, and whenever you do that there are small thumbnail pictures of all the blog followers on the site.

I think I must have noticed the similarity to Rodin's "Thinker" subconsciously before you pointed it out, but I definitely noticed it afterward. I've known more than one person who kept a book in that particular chamber for those private contemplative moments, although I've never done it. It would have made sense back in the days when I had small children underfoot...sometimes that's the only privacy a stressed-out mom ever gets!

Linda,
I really do not know. Perhaps thumbnails are a feature requiring activation; I did not know of its existence. More likely thumbnails are missing because there are no followers: They come, they look and then they flee.
I am grateful to you for signing on. If you can deduce the intent of my messages, please tell me what they mean. They always leave me baffled.

Everyone is aware of the meaning of disgruntle and probably has been thus discontent at one time or another. I have often wondered what a gruntle was and tonight I found the answer: Gruntle is the frequentative aspect of grunt, so it means "to grunt repeatedly." Am I the only one who didn't know?

Forging straight ahead, I guessed grumble would prove to mean a protracted grump but I found no justifying evidence for that.
I believe I am on firmer ground in thinking chuckle is the frequentative for chuck, an early form of cluck (a sound produced by hens).
