Mayhaps that species has already bred in captivity, and those holding said species captive failed to recognize said breeding?

Maybe the storks arranged it cause they were getting tired of the delivery business?

Today I bought more at the grocery store than I could easily carry on my bicycle. During the time it took to get everything securely stowed a woman of late middle age seized the chance to question me about bicycling in general and to comment upon my selection of foods, which, she said, was healthful. It was like a visit from my mother, so I answered courteously but briefly. Her final question stumped me: "Do you have four quarters for Western Union?"
When I told her I didn't take her meaning, she smiled sweetly and moved ten feet away and began examining the details of a shopping cart. Two minutes passed and my bike was well and fully loaded when she approached me again as if I were a different person. When she asked once more if I had four quarters for Western Union I realized she was begging. I gave her a little money, for which she thanked me kindly, then left the parking lot at once.
I hope she'll be OK tonight; so many of us aren't.

Sean,

It can take a long, LONG time for some people to take a hint, and in the case of certain incurable procrastinators it can take an inordinately long time for them to even realize the hint is there! I just posted two comments on your blog--one of them was to a post addressed to me nine months ago and the other one was to this drawing, posted a year ago. It wasn't until you posted your latest notes and "Another Angle" showed up in the hot topics on the front page again that I realized this post existed--which meant it was probably on your blog as well.

You have to realize that getting my attention is not always such an easy proposition, and you can be a little bit TOO subtle sometimes!

Growing up alone has its disadvantages. I remember when I made a can-string telephone and never found out if it worked because there was no one on the other end to listen.

I don't know what/who he just ate, but this ole Crone is long past the Maiden stage...even past the Mother stage. Guaranteed to be tough and stringy! No dragon could possibly be interested, not even a really desperate one. Which is a good thing in a way.

--Linda

P.S. Well...maybe a REALLY desperate dragon might be interested. But he'd have to be pretty damn desperate!

Any resourseful dragon would have a recipe for crone stew, which is really quite delicious.

LOL! Well, I guess you would know all about that if anyone does. I'll save the other wisecracks that occur to me for sometime when I REALLY need them. You never know...I just might need them someday!

I just posted this note to you under my last blog entry, but I'm cross-posting it here to make sure you see it:

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, Sean. I'm currently using IE 9.6, which is linked to my AOL account. Even the standalone version I use sometimes is "provided by AOL." Is there a newer version than IE 9.6? For the past week or so I've been using only Google Chrome to access Blogger because I can't get IE to work with it at all any more, not even to access my dashboard. I hated it at first becausse I couldn't locate ANYTHING! Now that I figured out where the copy and paste commands are and how to bookmark things it isn't so bad. I'm finally getting used to it, but then I really don't have a choice right now.

The main reason I'm posting this now is to let you know your blog crashed my Google Chrome browser twice--once last night and once earlier today. I had to send an error report to Microsoft both times. Didn't you say it was "grandfathered in" to Blogger from some other format? I've noticed since I started using this Google Chrome browser that the format on your blog is completely different from any of the other blogs I follow here. For one thing, I can't access my dashboard from your blog like I can with the others. Is there anything you can do about that? I'm going to copy and paste this in the other place to make sure you see it.

Linda,
I found no new comment from you in Passing Thoughts, so I'm glad you repeated it here. I can reach the blog from Chrome by pasting http://www.blogger.com/posts.g?blogID=7975514&pli=1 into the GoTo space. Perhaps you can, as well. Google is trying to force me to use their new format and I am declining because it turns the blog into a social network. I like the exclusivity that I enjoy at present. Probably they'll tire of my recalcitrance and cast me to the darkness. If they do, I'll find somewhere else to post my utterings and mutterings.

I posted the comment on my blog, Sean...not yours.

I don't know what you mean by turning the blog into a social network. Google does have a social network called Google+ but it isn't connected to Blogger no matter what format you use. So far I only have one friend on Google+ who asked me to join his circle, although I follow quite a few blogs and have a lot of friends on Blogger as well as Facebook. You have to ask people to join your circle(s). It doesn't happen automatically unless you want it to.

I wish you'd change to Blogger's newer format. It would make it easier for me to get back to my dashboard from your blog, and maybe it would keep it from crashing my Google Chrome browser. You wouldn't have to use yours if IE still works for you--I just don't have that choice any more. It would be no different from accessing my blog or Rebecca's, which you do all the time.

Linda,
I checked your blog before posting my last message here and once again, this morning. I see nothing posted there since Dec. 3 and no trace of your latest comment. Later on today I'll have another try at installing the new format, although with leaden fingers.

That's weird...there are now 9 comments under my last blog post (the December 3rd post), mostly between you and me about the problems we've been having with IE and Google Chrome. Plus another blogger named Nancy posted a note to me early this morning, and I replied to her about two minutes ago. I have no idea why you aren't seeing the comments.
