ah those "good old days!"

You spent more time with family, talking (gasp!) and relating!!

Oh, that we communicate directly, together!!!

Dearest William...

I remember my parents playing bridge... they both learnedd it in college and were ferocious players.

When I was 12 (sand m'sister a mere 20 months younger) we were deemed old enough to learn how to play. Out came the card table, the snacks, the cards and the four of us gathered for what eventually became known as the "Crying Game."

No, not the movie by the same name.

It was the "game" where by the end of my Dad's instruction period I'd've thrown the cards down and stomped off to my room in tears.

Never learned to play that damn game; never plan to, either. LOL!

These days m'son and I play canasta at least 2-3 times a week, and we've started playing Jungle Gin, too. Thankfully he got my ferocious card playing game gene, so it's a good time for both of us.

Dear CJ -

I was back in Korea teaching spoken English at Yonsie U, I taught my 2nd son and his buddies bridge. They are fine bridge players now. I learn it when I was 5 or 6. I really enjoy playing bridge. But now with whom ? However now we - when there are 4 of us, we play Spades. It is close to bridge. One must think to play either of them well. Today, my long gone memory kills my playing most any card gane.
